This cinematic trailer is an R&D project done by Axis Animations at Arimac. The main focus was deploying and testing out a solid pipeline and a workflow for future projects.
We were able to build an in-house mo-cap workflow with some proprietary middleware to help streamline the data translation into Motion Builder. The facial rig of the character is morph based, although we built in the functionality to take in captured data as well. The clothes are fully simulated using a multi layered approach where the buttons and other accessories follow the underlying geometry.
